Do you feel it? Griffith & Matawatchan is finally getting the attention we deserve from the Township beyond the basics, so let's keep the momentum going!

 

Have you engaged in Seniors Active Living Centre programming? Are you enjoying playing pickle ball or kid's sports? Did your kids or grandkids enjoy painting fairy houses at Ginza Park? How about kayak and paddle board lessons or trips to the Tulip Festival and the Thousand Islands? Did you engage with the library at the Kids Fishing Derby, or attend library events like the Watersheds Canada Shoreline session or the Dark Sky presentation?

 

Have you noticed a stronger police presence on our main roads or the new streetlight on Hwy 41 and Church St.? Have you used the new dock and privy at the Centennial Lake boat launch? Have you used free Wi-Fi at the Matawatchan Hall or Griffith Rec Centre or noticed increasing cell connectivity in the area? Have you noticed the greatly increased community engagement in Griffith & Matawatchan that started early on in this term of office with the Griffith Mile and more recently with the Health Hub workshop in Griffith?

 

People are engaging with the Township like never before. Thank you to everyone who took a  few moments to fill in the many surveys and attend workshops and open houses! Your input is an essential part of the decision-making process - at least it is now.

Many residents don't get involved in municipal governance at their second home but what happens here affects everyone. I encourage you to learn more about what's happening, but if you don't have time to get into the details, please know that your vote for me is important so I can continue working with the Council of the Township of Greater Madawaska for the people of Griffith & Matawatchan and beyond.

Make sure you are on the voters list 

SECOND RESIDENCES ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY ON THE VOTERS LIST

They can be added at the Township Office in Calabogie, or contacting the Clerk by email, phone, or at the polling station in Griffith between 10 am and noon on October 26 with proper ID and proof of residency. Look for your Voter Information Letter in the mail between October 6 and 13.
